Video For Law Firms

I am constantly asked by my attorney clients - 'should I add video to my site?' Video is an excellent tool to help convert visitors to one's site. Potential clients often visit several sites before calling or emailing an attorney. Video can be a powerful difference maker in that choice. As search engines evolve, and the creation of universal search, videos are also showing up more in search engine results and can be an effective tool to draw more traffic to a website. If you are going to create a video make sure you put together a professionally developed video as this is often the first 'contact' a potential client will have with your firm. Also, use a respected SEO company to optimize and distribute the video on sites like Google Video, You Tube, AOL Video, etc.

That being said, if you have a limited marketing budget like most attorneys, make sure you are using this budget first and foremost to drive qualified traffic to your site. If you are not getting the people who need your services to your site, having video won't mean much. Always invest in search engine optimization first. Once you are getting great, relevant traffic to the site, video should be used to reel them in.
